Evidence & Description Letter from the Emirates College for Advanced Education and Lesson Observation. Mentored student teachers in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. A key initiative in the United Arab Emirates is to encourage local teachers into the field of education and give them opportunities to adopt inquiry-based, relevant and rigorous teaching practices. Public schools established a partnership with Emirates College for Advanced Education to mentor student teachers. They would often come for several weeks or a whole term depending on university requirements.
Rationale
This evidence shows my ability to act as a mentor and collaborate with different organizations. This particular initiative helps college interns develop personal and professional competencies for self and community development. During this collaborative process, we built strong inter-cultural relationships based on trust, open communication and collective problem solving. Together, we improved cross cultural teacher competencies and provided excellent education for our students using best practices.
