Evidence & Description Classroom Term and Weekly Newsletter. Each term created a school newsletter, informing families about the curriculum and focus for the term. The newsletters also celebrated learning and invited families to participate in student learning at home and in the classroom. There was also a weekly newsletter that went out about what skills will be focused on, reminders and my contact information.
Rationale This shows some ways I communicate with students, families and the community. It celebrates student learning and encourages family and community involvement in English initiatives. It also gives suggestions on how families can support students at home using technology and other resources. All students and families have access to content because it is in Arabic and English. If there was a parent who could not read, I created an audio file for them. Overall, the newsletters built trust and created a positive learning environment so all students could succeed.
